dear god,
please let him be safe where he is tonight. the world is such a terrifying place to live in nowadays. you never think that the bad things would happen to the people around you but it’s always someone’s someone that’s in the newspapers and in the obituaries, and that someone might just be you. please let him come home tired and weary but unharmed as he left so that i can tell him that i love him. please give me his soul to comfort the best that i can to ready him to face the challenges that are waiting for him. please give me his body alive and warm to hold when he is weak. please give me his heart, beating and full, so that i can whisper tales to calm him and apologies for when i am not strong enough. please give me another day, another month, another year, another lifetime with him to thank you for.
please let him come home to me safe, today and everyday.
